Goals for 2026
Note: just because something isn't on here doesn't mean I won't try it at some point, it just means I don't want to commit to it as a goal in the near future.
- Run WL1~wl1 All Treasures
- Run WL2~wl2 All Levels Glitched, and maybe 100% Glitched
- Fill in all multiplayer categories in Streets of Rogue~streets_of_rogue with the Bomberman team (CMOJoker, RifeXD, OliveYou)
- Get WR back in Rhythm Tengoku~rhythm_tengoku Any%
- Get WR, or find a pathway leading to it, in Bomberman 2 (DS)~bomberman_2_ds
Things I did in 2026
- Got RTA record~streets_of_rogue/runs/zxrvv8gz in Streets of Rogue Any% Seedless, by turning off slowdown in menus and trying to minimize my time on the map. This is almost a minute faster than the previous fastest RTA run, despite being almost two minutes slower in IGT.
- Got WR~wl2/runs/m38pqo6y in WL2 All Levels (following a close 2nd place run a week prior). This WR also contains a new Any% PB, a category that I had also just improved my PB in two days before
- Even more 4 player Streets of Rogue, filling out more of the various categories that we hadn't done yet: Seeded Any%~streets_of_rogue/runs/mrwwp02y, Super Special Abilities Any%~streets_of_rogue/runs/z5nn48ez and Gym%~streets_of_rogue/runs/zpvveprz. A couple weeks later, we on a whim did 3 player runs to beat our 2 player time, and unexpectedly also beat our 4 player time by a few seconds with this PB~streets_of_rogue/runs/z10e3ljm
- Spent several days routing out WL2 100%, then got a couple 2nd place runs followed by WR~wl2/runs/yjr93nnz
- Participated in K-STAR 2026, playing Kirby's Dream Land 2 Best Ending again. I got a couple PBs in prep for this, but also PBed once more~kdl2/runs/y8l6njxm afterwards, and while it wasn't a perfect run I was pretty proud of it. VOD of my relay run
- Improved my PB~wl2/runs/y8lj185m in WL2 All Levels, without major derust or practice, just on a whim
- Got a super fast run~My_Card_Is_Better_Than_Your_Card/runs/zg1kknez in My Card's Relaxed difficulty. The person who beat my previous PBs with a different starting deck has since beat these ones again as of May, with a better implementation of the strat, and at this point I think I'd need to learn that meta now. I might be willing to do it in the future but I don't care to presently
- Got WR~wl2/runs/mrwjw94y in WL2 Main Story, which was a goal of mine dating to late 2022, but never realized, partly since I was initially beat to it by vlack. The run is a little Mickey Mouse since it uses painting warp, but it only saved 7 out of the possible 16 seconds you could save with it
- After someone else beat my My Card runs with a different starting deck which I deemed suboptimal, I beat their runs back. This was helped by a somewhat recent patch which made more animations scale with the game speed setting, literally making battles faster
- Improved my PB~wl2/runs/yw5o3kpy in WL2 Main Story, for the first time in 3 years, and on console (same story as WL1, relearning on controller despite being used to inverted keyboard input). I got back to the category partially because of the increased activity from 2+ other runners, and also because I wanted to get retribution for the subpar run I did in the relay a few months prior
- Got back into Wario Land II due to a new category extension board being made, running back the "Spin The Bottle"~wl2ce/runs/zx5pwq5m and "Revenge on Bees"~wl2ce/runs/ydop9k0z categories
- Even more Streets of Rogue: Duos with CMOJoker to improve our older times that got overshadowed by the 3 and 4 player times, ending with a PB~streets_of_rogue/runs/yl5xnv2z that ironically beat our 3 player PB, topped off with a custom character run~streets_of_rogue/runs/zp5xg3ny as well (technically our second).
Things I did in 2025
- Started running Minecraft (Java 1.16.1) somewhat seriously, due to the massive influx of players trying to rank higher than Coal on MCSR Ranked. Despite my inconsistency, I got a sub 30 RSG time (actual SR.C category), sub 20 ranked time (only relevant to the MCSR Ranked mod), and peaked at Gold III, but this was short lived as the season ended on January 1st and I didn't build back up to that point afterwards
- Improved my PB~wl1/runs/zn5qk78z in WL1 No Major Skips (twice); the first time I had run the category since Sep. 2020. Just like the Any% run from earlier in the year, I did this on console
- After getting my new computer, I started running My Card Is Better Than Your Card, an early access roguelite deckbuilder, which Rezzy introduced me to. Soon I got sub 30 world records in all three difficulties, and pushed the Relaxed difficulty particularly hard, getting a sub 20 time~My_Card_Is_Better_Than_Your_Card/runs/y40q0edz
- We finally did a run with all 4 of us for Streets of Rogue (same team as Bomber Man World in 2023 — CMOJoker, RifeXD, and OliveYou), getting 9:44~streets_of_rogue/runs/z173ekgz in Any% Co-op, a sizeable jump from the 3 player time due to more flexibility, experience, coordination, etc. I also went on a mission to improve my solo Any% time, ending up with a 5th place IGT time of 8:40~streets_of_rogue/runs/y8n2eexy (which is 3rd place RTA). After getting that run I tried going for RTA world record since I thought it was a bit more interesting than taking every possible slowdown opportunity, but I ultimately didn't finish any good runs because it takes the same amount of luck but is way harder due to needing to make decisions and movements way quicker.
- Rezzy, a new friend I made through ATLYSS speedrunning, had this idea to try to get a bunch of trivial records in empty leaderboards, so we both looked for games to run (we found some that ended up being unfun so didn't do those). Kutar Quiz~Kutar_Quiz/runs/zn58729z, the moth inside me~the_moth_inside_me/runs/z56o2v5y, Baking Something Bad~Baking_Something_bad/runs/mkr4vg1z, Duck Life 4 Classic~Duck_Life_4_Classic/runs/y403qvkz, Sanrio Shanghai~Sanrio_Shanghai/runs/z0k3xn9m.
- Followed up with ATLYSS by running Valdur% (new Any% after the July patch) in competition with a particular runner of two who ran the category. I tried trading WRs but always was a step behind, ending up 2nd~ATLYSS/runs/yd4k6wxy with no further competition. I ran All Quests after that (not on SR.C; see my video gallery). In October, another major update came out, making the game slower to run due to certain damage tweaks and quest experience redistribution, and as of this writing nothing else has really happened
- Acted as a primary organizer for a Wario Series Relay race (the first since 2020), recruiting runners, figuring out game order and scheduling, and commentating a significant part of the marathon alongside Dip (the other primary organizer, who was also in touch with our SpeedGaming representative to get the momentum going, and checked in with runners as we approached the relay date). We both ran a category each, mine being Wario Land II Main Story Glitchless. Full relay YouTube VOD, timestamped to my run start. I got a high 37, which was not up to my standards, but that made sense given the small amount of practice and derust I did
- Started running ATLYSS' new patch, first getting a run of Diva%~ATLYSS/runs/z00xp09z (short category), then routing and playing the first runs of Colossus% (the old Any% category prior to the big July update), beating my old version PB~ATLYSS/runs/y8goqwwz, and soon getting a time~ATLYSS/runs/y8gl881z pretty close to the old version WR (categories are now merged)
- Got Co-op Any% WR~streets_of_rogue/runs/yoeoxwdz and further improved Gym% WR~streets_of_rogue/runs/zx0wxe5z alongside CMOJoker and RifeXD, by figuring out an even more powerful combination of characters
- Got WR~streets_of_rogue/runs/y28k3p5y in Streets of Rogue "Gym%" (co-op Any% category without traits that allow you to teleport) alongside CMOJoker and RifeXD, due to more coordination and a more versatile combination of characters
- Rerouted Super Scribblenauts All Levels thanks to a push from a random person on YouTube (previously I was doing the levels in numerical order for simplicity and because I was lazy). My route was done entirely on my own. I then got one PB~superscribblenauts/runs/yjq8r27m with it, beating my time due to better gameplay but also presumably due to a better route
- Aero found that microscopic tree was better than mini tree, and then we traded WRs in Super Scribblenauts Any% a few times, culminating in my 29:00 to beat their 29:03. See a detailed history in my submission~superscribblenauts/runs/yoerkp7z
- Improved my Super Scribblenauts All Levels WR~superscribblenauts/runs/zpo3owvm by 33s, mostly because I got the infamous sound glitch for the second time ever. I got a couple more PBs after that without sound glitch so it's all good
- Got WR~scribblenauts_remix/runs/m7l53l5y in Scribblenauts Remix Any% (category requires doing all 50 of the original levels despite this not being necessary to beat the final level)
- Ran Scribblenauts 100%~scribblenauts_/runs/yv793doy for the second time ever, improving my time by almost 4 hours
- Improved my Scribblenauts Any% Unrestricted~scribblenauts_/runs/mkw3on3m and All Levels~scribblenauts_/runs/yjq302gm WRs, by 18s and 4m53s respectively
- Helped Big Garf, a yt content creator, with a Super Scribblenauts challenge video. This time I didn't do my own run, since the strategies for this run are significantly more tedious and my relevant knowledge of the game is more limited than in the first game
- Improved my PB~wl1/runs/mrd8qn4z in WL1 Any%, on console despite having only speedrun the game on keyboard up to that point. Until this derust, I hadn't completed any runs since my previous PB in 2020
- Got my first TAS published on TASVideos, being an improvement of a recent Scribblenauts TAS (the branch was called "highest level", but is equivalent to Any% Unrestricted for RTA)
- Ran WL4 100% for Shasta's GDQ Hotfix show, Do All The Things: YouTube VOD
- Further improved WR~wl4/runs/ylpj5q2m in Wario Land 4 100% Normal, beating greenbean's decade-old zips WR without using any zips
Things I did in 2024
- Took back WR~wl3/runs/zxj26p5y in Wario Land 3 100% after over 9 months (on Christmas Day); just in time to keep my promise of getting it within the year 2024. Unfortunately for me, Lotus took WR back on New Year's Eve
- Improved my Scribblenauts Any% unrestricted~scribblenauts_/runs/m7eg97wz and Any% no repeat levels~scribblenauts_/runs/y6g55v1m WRs by 44s and 53s respectively, on consecutive days
- Helped Big Garf, a yt content creator, with a Scribblenauts challenge video (his video got over a million views within a couple days; my take on the same challenge also performed well for my channel's standards)
- Ran Scribblenauts~scribblenauts_ All Levels for Shasta's GDQ Hotfix show, Do All The Things: YouTube VOD
- Helped with new WL3 Any% TAS by Katie (knowledge and optimizations): TASVideos submission
- Got 3rd place~vbwl/runs/y9jw1k2m in VBWL Any%, 2nd place~vbwl/runs/y226nw9y in 100%
- Got WR~rhythm_tengoku/runs/y6vvvvpm (at the time) in Rhythm Tengoku Any%
- Got sub 2hrs~scribblenauts_/runs/mrv7557z in Scribblenauts All Levels (improved a few times since)
- Took back WR~scribblenauts_/runs/m7nwk29z in Scribblenauts Any% after nearly 3 years
- Learned KDL2~kdl2 Best Ending for K-STAR 2024, ending up with this PB~kdl2/runs/zxq8ek5m 4 days before the event. VOD of the event, timestamped to my relay run
- Got 2nd place~wl1/runs/m3kegwwy in WL1 Glitchless
Things I did in 2023
- Became Wario Speedrun discord server owner
- Became a Wario Series mod on speedrun.com (cosmetic role lawl)
- Got WR~wl4/runs/zpwewgxy in WL4 100% Normal (Zipless)
- Ran WL3 Any% NMS for Pixel Perfect Marathon 2 (it was okay): YouTube VOD
- Got WR~wl2/runs/y98vwokz in WL2 Main Story Glitched
- Got WR~wl3/runs/z1l98p7m in WL3 100%
- Got WR (at the time) in all Rhythm Heaven Megamix~rhm categories
- Ran as P3 in Bomber Man World for Multithon (I think it was the first one), alongside CMOJoker, RifeXD, and
enbyzeeOliveYou: YouTube VOD - Got 2nd place~wl2/runs/zqe47g9z (at the time) in WL2 Main Story
Things I did in 2022
- Discovered S6 wrong warp in WL3 (saves a few minutes in All Chests and 100%, also used in Time Attack IL)
The timeline takes more work to uncover from this point. I started speedrunning WL1 in mid 2020, and picked up other land games (VB, 2, 3, 4, not in that order) between then and 2021, with varying degrees of commitment. WL3 is probably the game I've returned to the most.
